About the Role

As an Exceptional Children's Teacher, you'll lead specialized instruction that empowers students to thrive academically and personally. You'll design and deliver differentiated lessons that meet each student's unique learning needs while maintaining high expectations for achievement. Your classroom will be a space where diverse learners build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and discover their potential in science, technology, engineering, and math. You'll work collaboratively across our school community to ensure every student receives the support and challenge they need to succeed.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that reflect each student's strengths and goals
• Teach evidence-based, differentiated lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and academic levels
• Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction to maximize growth
• Partner with general education teachers, specialists, and families to coordinate comprehensive support
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom culture where all students feel valued
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and celebrate achievements
• Contribute to a school culture that positions STEM as accessible and essential for all learners

What We're Looking For

• Valid NC teaching certification (or eligibility) in Exceptional Children
• A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Deep belief that all students can achieve at high levels with proper support
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and school staff
• Commitment to using data to drive instructional decisions
