Polysomnographic (Sleep Lab) Technician (Part-Time), Jefferson Hospital

Highmark Health's Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated Polysomnographic Technician to join our sleep diagnostic team at our Jefferson Hills location in Allegheny County. This is a part-time evening and overnight position central to identifying and managing sleep disorders through advanced clinical testing.

About the Role

You'll work as a Sleep Lab Technician during evening and overnight hours (8:00 PM – 6:00 AM), conducting comprehensive sleep studies under the clinical supervision of licensed medical professionals. Your work directly supports the diagnosis and treatment of patients with sleep-related conditions.

What You'll Do

• Conduct polysomnographic examinations and monitor patients throughout sleep studies
• Perform Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT) and other diagnostic sleep procedures
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain sleep laboratory equipment and recording systems
• Document patient observations, clinical findings, and test data with accuracy
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the testing process
• Uphold clinical protocols, quality assurance standards, and infection control procedures
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and patients regarding results and care

What We're Looking For

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification or active pursuit of credential
• Solid understanding of sleep physiology, sleep medicine, and diagnostic procedures
• Technical competency with polysomnography equipment and data acquisition systems
• Ability to consistently work overnight hours in a healthcare environment
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accurate clinical documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate approach to patient care
• Collaborative mindset within a fast-paced healthcare team
