Teacher of Record Interventionist (BK- 8)

About This Opportunity

The Teacher of Record Interventionist role is essential to closing achievement gaps and helping struggling learners reach grade-level proficiency. You'll work at Highlander Virtual Paideia Learning Site, where your expertise will directly serve students who benefit from focused academic intervention. Whether through small-group instruction, one-on-one support, or collaborative classroom partnerships, your work will ensure every student receives the help they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver intensive, targeted instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, or other core academic areas
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student learning gaps and monitor progress
• Create and implement customized intervention plans that address individual student needs
• Collaborate with K–8 classroom teachers to align interventions with grade-level curriculum
• Use data and formative assessments to adjust instruction and measure intervention effectiveness
• Maintain detailed pupil accounting records and attendance documentation
• Communicate regularly with administrators, teachers, and families about student progress

Qualifications and Skills We Seek

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate or ability to obtain one
• Demonstrated expertise in K–8 literacy, numeracy, or general education instruction
• Proficiency with assessment tools and data interpretation
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners
• Comfort working within a virtual or blended learning environment

Position Details

This part-time position operates on a 120-day work year with a 0.67 full-time equivalent (FTE). Compensation is prorated according to FTE and experience level. You will report to the HVS Lead Administrator or the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services. This is an exempt position within the Howell Education Association (HEA) union.
