Independent Support Service Worker – Cumberland County

Catholic Charities Maine is seeking Independent Support Service Workers to serve seniors and adults with disabilities in their homes across Cumberland County. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling with 20–29 hours per week and provides the rewarding opportunity to help people maintain their independence and quality of life in their own communities.

About the Role

As an Independent Support Service Worker, you'll deliver essential in-home support services that enable clients to live with dignity and autonomy. Working directly in the homes of seniors and adults with disabilities throughout Cumberland County, you'll build meaningful relationships while helping people accomplish the daily tasks that matter most to them.

What You'll Do

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene support
• Perform housekeeping and household maintenance tasks to support safe, clean home environments
• Help clients with meal preparation and nutrition support
• Provide companionship and emotional encouragement to vulnerable populations
• Work collaboratively with care coordination teams to address individual client needs
• Document services provided and communicate progress to supervisors and case managers
• Maintain professional boundaries while fostering trust and respect with clients
