Crown Equipment Corporation is hiring a Mechanic specializing in Diesel Auto Forklifts at our Hayward, Alameda County location. Join our service team as a full-time technician supporting one of the world's leading lift truck manufacturers.
About the Role
In this hands-on position, you'll diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered material handling equipment at our Hayward service center. Working with the latest diagnostic tools, you'll ensure customer forklifts and lift trucks operate reliably across the Bay Area. Your technical expertise will directly support hundreds of Northern California businesses that depend on safe, dependable equipment.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and comprehensive inspections on diesel forklift engines, drivetrains, and hydraulic systems
- Diagnose mechanical failures using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer technical manuals
- Service and rebuild components including engines, transmissions, fuel systems, brakes, and lift mechanisms
- Maintain accurate repair records and service documentation for customer invoicing and warranty tracking
- Collaborate with service advisors to schedule work and communicate repairs to customers
- Adhere to safety standards and Crown's quality repair specifications on every job
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment service technician
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, fuel injection, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read technical schematics, service bulletins, and repair manuals
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
