About the Role
This Pharmacy Graduate Intern (Non-US Education) position is designed for internationally educated pharmacy graduates working toward licensure in the United States. Based at our Virginia Beach location, you will complete supervised post-graduate pharmacy work that helps satisfy the practical experience requirements set by the State Board of Pharmacy, all while delivering trusted care to the patients and customers Walgreens serves every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform post-graduate pharmacy duties under the direct guidance of a licensed pharmacist in order to meet State Board of Pharmacy licensure criteria.
- Counsel customers on the safe and effective use of their prescribed medications.
- Advise patients on potential drug interactions and contraindications to support better health outcomes.
- Help deliver preventive healthcare offerings, including immunization services.
- Support the accurate preparation and compounding of medications in line with pharmacy standards.
Qualifications
- A pharmacy degree earned from an educational institution outside the United States.
- Pursuing the licensure pathway and experience requirements of the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Comfortable working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Strong communication skills for educating and consulting with a diverse customer base.
