About the Role

As a Medical Technologist II (Fast Flow) at the Medical University of South Carolina, you will run diagnostic laboratory testing on patient specimens to support physicians as they diagnose, treat, and monitor a wide range of medical conditions. Working within the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), this on-site Charleston position centers on precision, reliability, and adherence to established laboratory standards in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in identifying and tracking various disease states.
• Receive, label, and prepare specimens so they are ready for analysis according to laboratory protocols.
• Carry out testing in line with standardized, validated procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
• Evaluate results for accuracy and acceptability, and flag values that fall outside critical limits.
• Communicate critical or abnormal findings promptly to support timely clinical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Background and credentials consistent with a Medical Technologist II role in a clinical or hospital laboratory.
• Working knowledge of diagnostic testing methods and standardized laboratory procedures.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical thresholds.
• Ability to perform reliably in a fast-flow, deadline-driven laboratory setting.
