The South River School District is seeking a dedicated Adult School Instructor to join our team in South River, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, on-site position is supported through Department of Labor grant funding and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in adult learners' lives.
About the Role
As an Adult School Instructor with the South River School District, you will deliver instruction to adult learners as part of the South River Adult School program. This is a grant-funded, in-person role based in South River, New Jersey, with evening classes that allow you to teach while supporting community education goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging instruction for adult students enrolled in the South River Adult School program.
- Teach scheduled evening sessions, currently held on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 6:00 p.m.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment tailored to the needs of adult learners.
- Prepare lesson materials and assess student progress in alignment with program objectives.
- Contribute to the success of a program funded through a Department of Labor grant.
Qualifications
- A valid teacher certification of any type is required.
- Commitment to availability for evening classes on the scheduled Tuesday and Thursday sessions.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working with adult students.
- Ability to begin in the role for the 2026–2027 academic year, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2026.
