Join La Casa Norte's team as a Youth Empowerment Specialist – Part Time in Chicago and help transform the lives of young people experiencing homelessness. This evening shift position offers meaningful work supporting our residents in stable housing and comprehensive services.
About the Role
As a Youth Empowerment Specialist, you'll work Friday through Sunday evenings from 6 PM to midnight in our emergency housing program. This part-time role focuses on creating a supportive, engaging environment for youth residents while they work toward housing stability and personal growth.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate evening activities and programming that build community and resilience among residents
- Provide direct support and mentorship to youth navigating housing instability and life challenges
- Monitor resident well-being during evening hours and respond to immediate needs with care and professionalism
- Maintain clear documentation of resident interactions and program participation
- Coordinate with the Emergency Beds Supervisor and broader team to ensure consistent, quality support
- Help create a safe, respectful environment that encourages engagement and personal development
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for youth empowerment and supporting individuals experiencing homelessness
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging situations
- Reliability and commitment to consistent evening availability (Friday–Sunday)
- Experience in youth services, social services, or community support (preferred)
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred)

Compensation and Details
This is a part-time position offering $17.26–$17.77 per hour. Hours are Friday–Sunday, 6 PM–midnight.
