KCI Construction is hiring a full-time Water/Waste Water Superintendent in Saint Louis, Saint Louis County. We're seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee our water and wastewater treatment systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead our team to deliver reliable service to the community.
About the Role
As our Water/Waste Water Superintendent, you'll take charge of daily operations across water and wastewater treatment facilities. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll manage equipment performance, supervise staff, enforce safety protocols, and maintain comprehensive operational documentation. You'll be responsible for ensuring our systems run smoothly while meeting all federal and state regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Direct and oversee water or wastewater treatment plant operations
- Lead, train, and supervise operations and maintenance staff
- Monitor treatment processes, equipment condition, and system efficiency
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, water quality standards, and reporting obligations
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Maintain detailed operational records, testing logs, and regulatory documentation
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and emergency response protocols
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, contractors, and community partners
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Water or wastewater treatment operator certification, or ability to obtain
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in water/wastewater operations or related field
- Proven leadership and staff management skills
- Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities
- Willingness to be available for on-call support when operational needs arise
