Role Overview

The Vice President of Trade Relations & Formulary Strategy is a critical executive leadership role responsible for the manufacturer-facing side of our supply chain. You will define and execute SmithRx's enterprise rebate strategy, formulary management, and clinical criteria, ensuring alignment with our 100% pass-through model to deliver value to our members.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive trade relations strategy that maximizes revenue opportunities for the company while maintaining strong relationships with key pharmaceutical manufacturers.
• Create and manage formulary strategies that align with clinical best practices, member needs, and market trends to ensure optimal cost savings and access to essential medications.
• Lead negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to secure favorable rebate agreements and contracts that support our mission of disrupting the PBM sector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and operations to align strategic objectives and drive overall business growth.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to ensure SmithRx remains at the forefront of innovation in pharmacy benefit management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or trade relations with a proven track record of success in negotiating favorable contracts and managing complex relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic formulary plans that balance member needs, clinical outcomes, and cost savings.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams towards common goals.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with key stakeholders including pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare providers, and internal team members.
• A deep understanding of pharmacy benefit management practices, regulatory landscape, and industry trends.
