What This Role Involves
As Area Vice President, you will lead GitLab's Financial Services sales organization and shape how we win new customers, expand existing relationships, and deliver predictable growth. You will build and develop a team of Regional Sales Directors who in turn lead Enterprise and Commercial Account Executives, helping financial services customers improve their software development processes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Leverage GitLab's AI-driven tools to enhance sales strategies and customer engagement
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with GitLab’s vision for the Financial Services market
- Recruit, train, and mentor Regional Sales Directors to ensure high performance and alignment with company goals
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Success to drive customer success and satisfaction
- Monitor sales metrics and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven track record of leadership in a high-growth technology company with a focus on software sales and services
- Experience building and managing large, complex sales teams (preferably over 100 members)
- A deep understanding of the financial services industry and its evolving needs
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in sales processes
- Familiarity with GitLab’s platform and culture, or a willingness to learn quickly
