As a Utility Locator at USIC, you'll spend your days locating, marking, and documenting underground utilities—including electric lines, gas pipelines, telecommunications cables, water mains, and sewer systems. Working independently in the field across the Kenosha area, you'll use industry-standard locating equipment, read technical maps and work orders, and mark dig sites clearly to prevent damage and protect public safety. This is full-time, outdoor-focused work that demands precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to the safety standards that protect both you and the communities you serve.

What You'll Do

  • Operate locating equipment (electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar technology) to trace underground utilities
  • Mark utility locations using paint, flags, and signage per industry and regulatory standards
  • Complete and maintain accurate field documentation and reports
  • Work independently and safely in all weather conditions across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
  • Communicate with contractors, construction crews, and utility companies on-site
