About the Role

As Programming and Publicity Assistant, you'll be at the heart of a thriving community gathering space. You'll develop and execute programming that strengthens the Union Square Greenmarket's role as a destination for New Yorkers seeking fresh, local food and sustainable living solutions. This full-time position combines event coordination, marketing, and community engagement to elevate our visibility and impact.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate and promote special events, workshops, and programming at the Union Square Greenmarket, from planning through day-of execution
• Create compelling marketing materials, social media content, and publicity campaigns that drive attendance and engagement
• Manage digital communications including email newsletters, social platforms, and the GrowNYC website presence for greenmarket updates and announcements
• Build relationships with vendors, community partners, and local organizations to expand programming opportunities
• Assist with vendor recruitment, coordination, and support to ensure a thriving marketplace
• Track program attendance, gather feedback, and report on impact and community response
• Support logistics and day-to-day operations to ensure an excellent experience for customers and vendors

What We're Looking For

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging public-facing content
• Demonstrated experience with event planning, programming, or community outreach
• Proficiency with social media platforms and digital marketing tools
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
