About the Role
This Travel PACU Registered Nurse position with GetMed Staffing, Inc. places you on the front line of post-anesthesia care, monitoring patients as they emerge from surgery and ensuring a safe, stable recovery. The contract runs for 13 weeks with a planned start date of July 20, 2026, scheduled at 40 hours per week across 8-hour day shifts. This is a full-time travel role based on-site in Miland, Sabine County — it is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver attentive post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural anesthesia.
- Continuously assess vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and recovery progress.
- Recognize and respond promptly to post-operative complications or changes in patient condition.
- Coordinate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the broader perioperative team.
- Document care accurately and prepare patients for safe discharge or transfer.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure appropriate for practice in the assignment location.
- Demonstrated experience in PACU / Post Anesthesia Care nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the confidence to act decisively in a fast-moving recovery unit.
- Flexibility and adaptability suited to a 13-week travel contract on day shifts.
