What This Role Involves
As a nephrology-focused travel RN, you'll deliver compassionate clinical care to patients managing kidney disease and undergoing dialysis treatment. Working 36 hours per week across 12-hour day shifts, you'll monitor patient progress, support treatment adherence, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in an Oklahoma City healthcare environment. This travel contract offers the flexibility and premium compensation experienced travel nurses expect—$2,060 weekly.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to nephrology and medical-surgical patients, including those receiving dialysis
- Monitor vital signs, fluid levels, and treatment responses with clinical precision
- Administer medications and manage vascular access (fistulas, grafts, catheters) per protocol
- Document patient assessments and communicate findings with physicians and care team members
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe clinical environment
- Support patient education regarding kidney disease management and dialysis procedures
Requirements
- Current RN license (valid in Oklahoma or compact state)
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in nephrology or medical-surgical units
- BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications required or obtainable before start date
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, five days per week for the 13-week duration
- Strong clinical judgment, time management, and communication abilities
- Flexibility and readiness to adapt to a new clinical setting
