Stantec is seeking a full-time Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in Bonnie, Utah County. As part of a leading infrastructure and design firm, you'll contribute to projects that modernize the electrical grid and strengthen energy infrastructure across the region.
About the Role
This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse transmission line projects, from system design and planning through implementation and commissioning. You'll engage with complex infrastructure challenges while supporting Stantec's mission to deliver innovative engineering solutions that power communities and drive energy resilience.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop transmission line systems, including route studies and technical specifications
- Perform engineering analysis and calculations to ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance
- Conduct site inspections and field assessments to support project development and feasibility studies
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project managers, environmental specialists, and regulatory experts
- Review and ensure adherence to electrical codes, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Support stakeholder engagement and permitting processes for transmission infrastructure projects
What We're Looking For
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in Utah
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, or related discipline
- Knowledge of transmission line design principles and high-voltage electrical systems
- Familiarity with electrical codes (NEC, NESC) and industry standards
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Experience with engineering software and design tools
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
- Willingness to travel for site visits and field inspections as needed
