About the Role

We are seeking a Trainee Water Assistant to join our team at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference every day within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supporting in water-based activities for participants of all ages and abilities
• Maintaining safety standards during training sessions and events
• Aiding in the organization and setup of equipment before and after sessions
• Assisting with participant registration and welfare needs as required
• Participating in regular team meetings to discuss progress and areas for improvement

Requirements

• A minimum of 16 years old
• Basic swimming skills or equivalent qualification (such as a Level 1 Lifeguard certificate)
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and evenings during peak season

This role offers an hourly rate ranging from £10.85 to £12.71 plus excellent benefits. The schedule is permanent, full-time with 39 hours per week, working Monday to Sunday. Shifts typically range from 6 to 13 hours depending on the season and may include rotations of 4-on 3-off or 4-on 4-off, with weekend events often requiring longer shift times (typically 10 to 13 hours).
