About the Role

As a Senior Trademark Paralegal, you will support Abbott's legal team in managing and safeguarding the company's extensive trademark portfolio. Working from Abbott Park in Lake County, you'll play a key part in maintaining the brand assets that represent Abbott's life-changing technologies across diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition, and branded generic medicines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the filing, prosecution, and maintenance of trademark applications and registrations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain accurate records and docketing systems to track deadlines, renewals, and portfolio status.
• Conduct trademark searches and prepare summary reports to support brand clearance decisions.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders on global brand protection matters.
• Support enforcement activities, including monitoring potential infringements and preparing related documentation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated paralegal experience, ideally with a focus on trademarks and intellectual property.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail when managing deadlines and records.
• Familiarity with trademark docketing software and filing procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across legal and business teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, on-site environment at Park.
