Territory Account Executive, Retail – Coastal Connecticut

Join Toast as a Territory Account Executive for our rapidly expanding Retail division, based in Fairfield, Connecticut. We're building the Toast Retail platform to serve convenience stores, grocery stores, bottle shops, and other food and beverage retail concepts—and we need an ambitious, results-driven sales professional to establish and grow our presence in Coastal Connecticut.

About the Role

As Territory Account Executive for Retail in Fairfield, Coastal Connecticut, you'll own a geographic territory and drive new customer acquisition for the Toast Retail platform. This is a full-time, on-site position that demands a founder's mindset: you'll be building something from the ground up, establishing Toast's retail footprint while territories are still being defined. You'll work directly with retail business owners, understand their operational challenges, and position Toast Retail as the solution that simplifies inventory, payments, and customer management.

What You'll Do

• Prospect, qualify, and close retail customers (convenience stores, grocery stores, bottle shops) in your Fairfield and Coastal Connecticut territory
• Build a sales pipeline and manage the full sales cycle from discovery through implementation
• Become an expert on the Toast Retail platform and communicate its value to retail owners and operators
• Develop relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the local retail food and beverage community
• Meet and exceed quarterly sales targets while expanding Toast's market share in the region
• Collaborate with product, implementation, and customer success teams to ensure customer success post-sale

What We're Looking For

• Proven territory sales experience in SaaS, POS, restaurant technology, or retail solutions
• A hunter's mentality: you thrive on cold outreach, prospecting, and building new customer relationships
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex solutions simply
• Self-directed, coachable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage vertical
• Familiarity with the retail or food and beverage industry (a plus, not required)
• Willingness to travel within your Coastal Connecticut territory as needed
