What This Role Involves
The Technical Support Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of IT systems across our district. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing user support, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication and data management.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by staff and residents
- Provide first-line IT support for a wide range of hardware and software applications
- Maintain and update the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity
- Perform regular system backups and maintain data integrity
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and changes in the IT service management system
What You Bring
- A degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field
- Proven experience in technical support roles within an organizational setting
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems
- Experience with network management tools and protocols such as DHCP, DNS, and VLANs
- A proactive approach to maintaining IT infrastructure and resolving issues promptly
