Support Worker at Wise Group in Nelson, South Island
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our compassionate team in Nelson. This is a full-time position with permanent employment. The role involves working Fridays through to Sundays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM in our mental health service, providing support for tāngata whai ora (people who use services) in a peaceful crisis respite setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and meet the needs of tāngata whai ora to ensure their well-being
- Provide emotional and practical support to individuals in need
- Facilitate activities that promote mental health and wellbeing
- Collaborate with a team to deliver high-quality care
- Ensure all services are provided in compliance with organizational policies and procedures
Skills & Qualifications
- NZ L4 Health and Wellbeing certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, especially within mental health settings
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
