RTX seeks a Strategic Business Unit Strategist – Naval Power to lead strategic planning and market analysis for one of the world's largest defense contractors. Based in Boston, you'll partner with DoD stakeholders, engineering teams, and business leadership to advance RTX's naval power capabilities and shape the future of U.S. maritime defense.
About the Role
As a Strategic Business Unit Strategist focused on Naval Power, you'll serve as a key strategic leader defining RTX's approach to naval systems, platforms, and modernization opportunities. This full-time position at our Boston, Suffolk County headquarters offers direct exposure to defense policy, naval operations, and enterprise-level decision-making in the naval power sector.
What You'll Do
- Develop multi-year strategic roadmaps for naval power systems, translating DoD requirements and Navy modernization priorities into business and technology initiatives
- Conduct competitive landscape and capability assessments across the naval power market, identifying growth opportunities and risk factors
- Engage directly with Navy leadership, DoD acquisition teams, and industry partners to understand operational requirements and strategic direction
- Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and sales teams to align naval power strategy with product development and market positioning
- Support major naval defense proposal efforts and go-to-market strategies for key platforms and capabilities
- Analyze geopolitical trends, naval policy changes, and defense spending patterns to inform strategic recommendations
- Evaluate technology investments and partnership opportunities that strengthen RTX's naval power portfolio
What We're Looking For
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, naval science, defense policy, business, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in naval defense strategy, military operations analysis, defense acquisition, or naval systems engineering
- Deep understanding of Navy mission requirements, fleet modernization, and naval power trends
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex DoD processes, budget cycles, and acquisition frameworks
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills
