Special Ed Job Coach

Lewisville ISD seeks a dedicated Special Ed Job Coach to join our Special Education Services team in a full-time support position. In this role, you'll empower students with disabilities through hands-on vocational coaching, workplace training, and transition services that transform classroom learning into real career pathways and employment success.

About the Role

This full-time support staff position provides essential job coaching and mentoring for students in special education pursuing employment and career development. You'll work directly with students at job sites and school settings, facilitating practical skill development and meaningful workplace integration. The starting salary is $17.18 per hour, with the position available immediately to support ongoing student outcomes and program continuity.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct vocational coaching and job training to students with disabilities at work sites and school-based settings
• Develop individualized transition plans aligned with student IEPs, abilities, and post-secondary career goals
• Model and reinforce appropriate workplace behaviors, communication, professional standards, and job performance expectations
• Collaborate with special education teachers, counselors, employers, and families to coordinate student support
• Monitor student progress, document coaching activities, and adjust instructional strategies based on performance data
• Guide students in building workplace independence, social skills, problem-solving, and self-advocacy abilities
• Maintain regular communication with school staff and families regarding student achievement and transition progress

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with students or individuals with special needs, intellectual disabilities, or developmental differences
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to model and teach positive workplace conduct and professional expectations
• Patience, flexibility, and demonstrated commitment to student achievement and independence
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site visits and community placements
• Collaborative approach to working with special education teams, school staff, and community employers
