About This Position

This full-time General Foreman/Site Agent (Building) - Construction Industry vacancy centres on day-to-day leadership of building sites for a medium-sized contractor whose projects span the Cape Town Region. Candidates who are young, hardworking and committed will thrive in directing multi-million-value work packages while upholding programme deadlines, quality benchmarks and site discipline. The role reports into established project teams and supports continued delivery excellence across residential and commercial building developments near Cape Town City Centre.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations, allocating artisans, labour and subcontractors to meet production targets on building contracts
• Monitor progress against construction programmes, identify variances early and implement corrective actions
• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards so that every activity remains compliant with relevant regulations
• Coordinate material deliveries, plant and equipment to avoid downtime and maintain workflow continuity
• Conduct quality inspections, record non-conformances and drive prompt remedial measures with supervisory staff
• Prepare concise site reports and maintain open communication with project managers, engineers and client representatives

Requirements

• National Diploma in Building or a closely equivalent qualification
• Between 8 and 10 years of hands-on experience in a comparable General Foreman or Site Agent capacity
• Proven track record of employment with building contractors delivering multi-million projects
• Demonstrated ability to supervise diverse site crews while remaining young, hardworking and committed under pressure
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and South African building practices prevalent in the Cape Town Region
