Senior Systems Engineer with Security Clearance

Chenega Corporation is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer with Security Clearance for our Huntsville, Madison County location. This is a full-time position supporting our Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) division.

About the Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll own the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure systems serving critical government operations. You'll work with modern enterprise technologies while maintaining compliance with defense security standards, directly contributing to mission success for clients across the intelligence and defense sectors.

What You'll Do

• Design and deploy resilient, scalable systems architectures aligned with DoD and intelligence community standards
• Manage system configurations, patch cycles, and security hardening across multi-tiered infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure challenges and implement long-term optimization strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security specialists, software developers, and network engineers
• Document system designs, operational procedures, and configuration management protocols
• Participate in security assessments and continuous compliance activities
• Mentor junior technical staff and contribute to process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise systems administration and infrastructure design
• Strong background with Linux/Unix and Windows Server operating systems
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms, virtualization, and storage technologies
• Experience with security compliance frameworks (NIST, DISA STIGs, or equivalent)
• Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaborative, mission-driven teams
