Cloud System Engineer – Level 3 with Security Clearance

CACI is seeking a Cloud System Engineer - Level 3 to join our team in Suitland, Prince George's County, Maryland. This full-time role supports critical infrastructure for a Department of Defense client and requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Role Overview

As a Cloud System Engineer - Level 3, you'll design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud-based systems and infrastructure serving national defense missions. You'll combine deep technical expertise with a security-first mindset, working within a team environment where precision and reliability directly impact operational readiness. This mid-level engineering position emphasizes both technical depth and cross-functional collaboration across DoD-focused cloud environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and architect cloud infrastructure solutions that meet stringent security and compliance requirements for Department of Defense operations
• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud systems with particular attention to isolation, access controls, and secure network configurations
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and operational resilience
• Collaborate with security and operations teams to maintain compliance with federal security standards and best practices
• Document system configurations, procedures, and architectural decisions to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity
• Support system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities while minimizing downtime to mission-critical operations
• Travel locally as needed, up to 10%, to support client requirements and on-site coordination

Skills & Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required to start
• Substantial experience with cloud systems engineering, system administration, or related infrastructure responsibilities
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, including infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and orchestration concepts
• Strong understanding of DoD security frameworks, federal compliance standards, and secure system design principles
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems, networking, storage, and database administration
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities in complex, mission-critical environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical decisions clearly
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, security-conscious culture
