About the Role

Metromont is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our innovative team in Bartow, Florida. This pivotal position focuses on designing and optimizing precast concrete structures for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. As a key member of our engineering department, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to ensure structural integrity, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards while contributing to sustainable building solutions that define the future of construction.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the structural design process from concept through final detailing for precast concrete components. Daily tasks include performing detailed calculations, creating 3D models using advanced software, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating with production, project management, and external architects. You will conduct structural analysis for load-bearing elements, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, troubleshoot design challenges on active projects, and participate in internal design reviews to maintain the highest quality standards across all deliverables.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and possesses a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or the ability to obtain one within six months. Candidates should bring 8+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering with a strong emphasis on precast or prestressed concrete design. Proficiency in engineering software such as ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit is essential. Strong knowledge of ACI, PCI, and IBC codes, combined with excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills, will set you apart. Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is highly preferred.
