Product Owner

About the Role

You'll champion operational modernization within financial services through product leadership and AI-driven solutions. Your focus: identifying opportunities to replace manual, error-prone processes with intelligent systems that augment human expertise. You'll shape a roadmap balancing transformation ambition with near-term impact and operational resilience, while maintaining the controls and audit standards financial institutions demand. You'll lead discovery to validate problems before committing resources, then drive delivery with clear milestones and transparent risk management. This team maintains a track record of delivering approximately 95% of initiatives on schedule and within budget.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct structured discovery sessions to document workflows, constraints, stakeholder needs, and success criteria for new initiatives.
• Build and evolve a product roadmap that sequences transformation work, operational improvements, and technical debt across reconciliation and fund accounting domains.
• Partner with data science and engineering to identify, design, and validate AI and machine learning applications that modernize back-office tasks.
• Define milestones, track progress, manage dependencies, and surface risks and tradeoffs to stakeholders early.
• Translate operational and technical requirements into well-structured epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Serve as a connective leader across business operations, finance, technology, and executive leadership.
• Build stakeholder confidence through transparent communication and accountability to outcomes.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet operational auditability, controls, and reliability standards required in financial services.

Requirements

• 7+ years in product ownership, product management, or senior business analysis in financial services.
• Hands-on expertise in back-office operations, fund accounting, reconciliation, NAV calculations, general ledger controls, or treasury at an asset manager, hedge fund, or fund administrator.
• Proven track record leading AI-enabled or intelligent automation initiatives that fundamentally redesigned operational workflows through ML or NLP.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and track complex initiatives from conception through delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and influence skills; ability to align diverse stakeholder groups.
• Clear written and verbal communication that translates technical complexity into actionable insights.
• Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and break ambiguous problems into solvable components.
• Familiarity with software development and AI integration; comfort learning technical depth without hands-on coding.
• Commitment to integrity, transparency, and consistent delivery.
