About This Position
Join our Technical Services team as a Senior Platform Architect and drive transformational outcomes with Temporal. You’ll be the accountable technical owner from purchase to stable production, turning complex challenges into scalable, repeatable solutions. Shape delivery patterns, operational standards, and enablement strategies that accelerate customer success and create lasting competitive advantage across teams and environments.
Responsibilities
- Owning Production Readiness and Activation
- Acting as the single owner of customers' scale-proof production readiness
- Driving the first production workflow and reducing time-to-production
- Establishing guardrails and best practices for reliability, failure handling, scaling, and upgrades
- Making developers Temporal SDK experts and customer platform architects Temporal Server and SDK best practice experts
- Setting up alerting to catch issues before customers do
- Working on assigned customers' most difficult tickets and problems
- Identifying and removing activation blockers early before they become escalations
- Optimizing costs and performance with customers
- Running the Customer's Technical Program
- Building and executing a KPI-driven success plan tied to production outcomes
- Defining standards for patterns, training, governance, and operational readiness
- Leading cross-functional coordination of Professional Services, Support, Partners, and internal teams, leveraging project management to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Proactively managing technical risk, migrations, and architectural debt
- Ensuring Long-Term Technical Health by setting and validating reliability, observability, and operational standards
- Monitoring health signals and intervening before the customer knows they're happening

What We're Looking For
- Achieved a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on technical leadership experience, with at least 5 years in platform architecture roles
- Experience working on complex and high-impact projects, driving transformational outcomes for customers
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive successful project delivery
- Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and microservices architectures
- Experienced with Temporal Server and SDK best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate across multiple departments
- Aptitude for problem-solving and ability to handle complex technical challenges
- Experience in defining and implementing operational standards and governance frameworks
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
