LA28 (Web) is hiring a Senior Manager, Games Learning to work in our Los Angeles, California headquarters. This full-time role combines strategic program development with operational leadership to capture, preserve, and share Olympic and Paralympic knowledge with future host cities.

About This Position

Within Games Insights & Learning—a strategic function unique to Olympic organizing committees—you'll report to the VP and lead efforts to document LA28's planning insights, best practices, and operational knowledge for the broader Games movement. Your charge: develop and execute a strategy for capturing institutional knowledge, establishing frameworks that systematize how critical planning materials, playbooks, reports, and artifacts are collected throughout the Games lifecycle, then transferred to successor organizing committees and key Olympic stakeholders. You'll also spearhead the LA28 Observer Program, enabling future host cities to learn directly from LA28's planning and delivery practices.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design and implement LA28's knowledge-collection strategy, including frameworks and governance structures for capturing organizational content and artifacts
  • Partner with functional departments to identify and gather operational planning materials, publications, and documentation
  • Manage processes for preserving Games-related artifacts and memorabilia contributing to LA28's legacy
  • Track progress on knowledge transfer milestones, manage risks, and provide executive-level reporting
  • Lead development of the LA28 Observer Program for future OCOGs: define learning objectives, coordinate workshops and venue visits, facilitate operational briefings, and guide post-Games knowledge sessions
  • Direct team members supporting Observer Program execution and stakeholder engagement
  • Serve as strategic partner to VP on functional priorities, resource allocation, and long-term planning
  • Lead cross-functional working groups integrating Observer Program and knowledge transfer initiatives

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in program leadership, strategic planning, knowledge management, stakeholder engagement, consulting, or large-scale operations
  • Proven ability to develop strategy and deliver new programs and processes from concept to execution
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives with senior leaders and evolving requirements
  • Demonstrated skill translating strategic objectives into scalable programs and measurable outcomes
  • Professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Preferred: Direct Games, multi-sport event, or major cultural institution experience; meticulous organizational skills; self-directed work style; multilingual background or international experience
