About the Role

In this full-time, on-site position in Platte City, you will own the estimating process for civil construction projects, with a strong emphasis on structures work. You'll translate detailed plans and specifications into accurate, competitive bids that help the company keep growing — and grow your own career alongside it.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine project plans, drawings, and specifications to scope civil and structural work thoroughly.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop and submit complete, competitive bid packages within deadline.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and validate measurements against project documents.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and trade partners.
• Work hand-in-hand with project managers, engineers, and field staff to align estimates with execution.
• Identify potential risks, cost drivers, and value-engineering opportunities early.

Qualifications

• Proven experience estimating civil construction projects, especially involving structures.
• Confident reading and interpreting construction plans and technical specifications.
• Strong grasp of takeoff methods, cost analysis, and bid assembly.
• Sharp attention to detail with the organization to manage multiple bids at once.
• Clear communicator who collaborates well across office and field teams.
• Comfortable working on-site in Platte City.
