Senior Accountant

What This Role Involves

As a Senior Accountant at Porch, you'll take ownership of core financial management responsibilities, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our financial operations and ensure the highest standards of accounting accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and financial records
• Oversee month-end and year-end close procedures
• Review and verify invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of accounting experience with progressive responsibility
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• CPA certification or commitment to pursuing one is preferred
