Role Overview

The Security Supervisor oversees the CARES department’s safety and security operations during an assigned shift and supervision of Community Safety Officers. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a secure environment for all members of the Barnard College community.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Community Safety Officers
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures
  • Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies and security incidents
  • Monitor surveillance systems and maintain logs as required
  • Conduct routine patrols of campus facilities and grounds
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and enforce policies consistently

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in security or law enforcement
  • Knowledgeable in emergency response procedures and first aid
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid a plus
