Security Services Coordinator

About the Role

The Security Services Coordinator plays a vital role in the district's security and safety operations. Working within the Department of Security Services under the Director of Security Services, you'll serve as a key member of the team responsible for implementing, monitoring, and refining security protocols that protect students, staff, and facilities. This is a non-certified support and supervisory position ideal for someone with a background in security, operations, or facility management who is eager to make a direct impact on school safety.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Coordinate security initiatives, protocols, and procedures across district campuses
• Oversee documentation and reporting related to security incidents and safety concerns
• Organize and facilitate emergency preparedness drills, including fire, lockdown, and shelter-in-place exercises
• Work with security staff, vendors, and third-party contractors to ensure system compliance and operational effectiveness
• Collaborate with building administrators and department heads to develop and communicate safety policies
• Monitor security systems, access controls, and facility audits
• Maintain detailed records of security activities, training logs, and compliance documentation
• Support the Director of Security Services with special projects and strategic safety initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or higher preferred
• 3+ years of experience in security, law enforcement, facility operations, or related field
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and security management software
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of school safety best practices and emergency response protocols
• Valid driver's license and background clearance eligibility
