Role Overview

Anthropic's Labs team explores the frontier of AI capability. As Research Product Manager, you will own the complete journey from nascent research breakthrough to shipped product. Your mission focuses on identifying emerging scientific capabilities with commercial potential, validating them through rapid prototyping, and directing teams through full-lifecycle product development. You'll work hand-in-hand with researchers and engineers to recognize breakthrough moments and build products that unlock entirely new categories of AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with researchers to uncover emerging capabilities and translate them into compelling product opportunities
• Evaluate research breakthroughs for their potential to drive user value and create new market categories
• Build and refine prototypes at speed to validate product-market fit and technical feasibility
• Lead comprehensive product development from early research concept through deployment at scale
• Establish and articulate product strategy for frontier initiatives that push boundaries beyond existing offerings
• Drive lean, efficient MVP development approaches that maximize learning with minimal resource commitment
• Champion the vision, roadmap, and execution of AI-powered solutions that address meaningful real-world challenges

Requirements

• Minimum five years of product management experience, with demonstrated success launching new products or scaling existing ones; background as a founder is a plus
• Solid technical background with proven ability to partner effectively with engineering teams on sophisticated product initiatives
• Capacity to move decisively through ambiguous situations and shift focus across varied technical domains as business needs evolve
• Proven record of delivering ambitious products to market that achieved meaningful user traction or commercial success
• Curiosity and intellectual rigor in evaluating emerging technologies; comfort questioning conventional approaches and established playbooks
• Engagement with current research developments and industry trends; commitment to staying informed about AI advancements
• Hands-on familiarity with AI tools; demonstrated ability to build and iterate on prototypes
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of professional training and experience
