MSD is seeking an accomplished Principal Scientist (Director) to lead Rheumatology Outcomes Research at our Rahway, New Jersey site — a pivotal role shaping how the value of pipeline therapies is demonstrated to stakeholders worldwide.
About the Role
Reporting to an Executive Director, the Principal Scientist (Director) – Rheumatology Outcomes Research takes ownership of value evidence strategy across MSD's rheumatology pipeline. Based in Rahway, New Jersey, you will design and direct real-world and health economic evidence programs that articulate the worth of emerging assets to clinicians, payers, policymakers, health technology assessment and reimbursement bodies, and health systems across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead value evidence strategies for rheumatology pipeline products.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee real-world evidence and economic research initiatives.
- Generate evidence that addresses the needs of clinicians, payers, policymakers, and HTA/reimbursement agencies globally.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align outcomes research with broader development and access objectives.
- Translate scientific findings into compelling support for reimbursement and health system decision-making.
Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in outcomes research, health economics, or real-world evidence generation, ideally within rheumatology or related therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to develop and execute value evidence strategies for pharmaceutical assets.
- Strong understanding of the requirements of payers, HTA agencies, and reimbursement authorities in global markets.
- Demonstrated leadership in planning and managing complex, multi-stakeholder research programs.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills suited to a senior, director-level position.
