About the Role
As a Recovery Specialist in Addiction Services, you'll provide compassionate, peer-based support to individuals navigating recovery from substance use disorders. This part-time position is essential to our mission of partnering with people to overcome challenges and realize their full potential. You'll work within a team dedicated to delivering individualized services across our extensive network of program sites throughout Greater Boston.
What You'll Do
- Support individuals in developing and working toward their personal recovery goals
- Facilitate peer support groups and recovery-focused activities
- Build genuine, supportive relationships with program participants
- Assist with treatment planning and care coordination
- Provide crisis support and intervention when needed
- Help connect individuals to community resources and services
- Document progress and maintain accurate program records
- Contribute to a welcoming, non-judgmental program environment
What We're Looking For
- Personal or professional experience with recovery from substance use disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Reliability and commitment to showing up for people in recovery
- Willingness to pursue relevant certifications (such as CADC or peer recovery specialist credentials)
- Flexibility and openness to learning and growing in this role
