Quantitative Model Validation Officer III

About This Position

The Quantitative Model Validation Officer III role is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the validation, testing, and ongoing governance of quantitative models used throughout Truist's financial operations. This is a hands-on position where you'll independently manage complex model validation projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the integrity of our quantitative infrastructure.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct independent technical validation of quantitative models, including stress testing, back-testing, and sensitivity analysis
• Document model assumptions, limitations, and control frameworks for compliance and audit purposes
• Develop and implement validation methodologies and best practices across model portfolios
• Collaborate with model development teams to identify issues and recommend improvements
• Maintain detailed records of validation findings and track remediation of control exceptions
• Prepare reports for model governance committees and senior leadership
• Stay current with regulatory expectations and evolving standards for model risk management

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, or related quantitative field
• 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, model validation, or model risk management
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
• Proficiency with statistical analysis and financial modeling tools
• Solid understanding of financial products and quantitative risk management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
