The Opportunity
Nelson Construction & Development is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $30M across multifamily, senior living, hospitality, municipal, and mixed-use sectors throughout the Midwest. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex projects with excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Lead commercial construction projects from start to finish
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards
- Communicate regularly with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Oversee site operations and resolve any issues that arise
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. This includes managing project timelines, budgets, and resources; ensuring quality control; and maintaining open communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary
- Prepare regular reports on project status and financial performance
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals involved in the project
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and standards
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a combination of education and experience that includes:
- A bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects from $1M to $30M
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Familiarity with project management software and tools
