Position Summary

The Ministry of New Zealand is seeking a Programme Manager to drive governance, planning, reporting, and assurance for a major event. This role will manage risks, budgets, and workstream delivery across multiple agencies based in Wellington with some travel required.

Your Responsibilities

• Drive governance, planning, reporting, and assurance for a major event
• Manage risks, budgets, and workstream delivery across multiple agencies
• Become an expert on the programme's strategic direction and objectives
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders
• Develop and maintain project plans and timelines
• Monitor progress against key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery of projects

Who We're Looking For

• A proven track record in programme management, preferably within the public sector or a similar high-stakes environment
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-agency teams and stakeholders
• Experienced in risk management, budgeting, and project delivery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and drive collaboration
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Proficient in using project management tools and software
