Process and Product Engineer

Continental is seeking a Process and Product Engineer to join its manufacturing facility in Mount Pleasant, IA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement and innovation in process design and product development within a global automotive and industrial manufacturing leader.

Position Summary

As a Process and Product Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes while contributing to product development initiatives. This role bridges engineering discipline with operational execution, requiring technical expertise in process analysis, problem-solving, and collaborative cross-functional engagement. You will work directly with production teams, quality assurance, and engineering colleagues to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure products meet performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
• Design and implement process enhancements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and lower production costs
• Support product development by providing engineering input on manufacturability and process capability
• Conduct root-cause analysis on production issues and develop preventive and corrective measures
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot technical challenges
• Prepare documentation including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, and technical reports
• Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or related discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process analysis or manufacturing
• Proficiency with engineering tools and software for modeling, simulation, or technical documentation
• Knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing principles, or Six Sigma methodologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication for technical documentation and team collaboration
• Ability to work effectively in team environments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
