About the Role

The Liang Laboratory is searching for an energetic, intellectually curious Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to a close-knit, team-oriented research environment. This on-site position in Philadelphia is ideal for a recent PhD eager to push high-impact, translational research forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, perform, and troubleshoot experiments investigating oncogenic addiction and the cellular mechanisms shared by cancer and infectious disease.
  • Explore virus–host interactions and how they intersect with tumor biology.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data with rigor and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the lab and partner groups within the institute.
  • Communicate results through manuscripts, presentations, and lab meetings.
  • Help translate basic findings into potential therapeutic directions.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) in cancer biology, molecular biology, virology, or a closely related field, or near completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory-based biomedical research, ideally in cancer biology or virus–host interactions.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a record of careful, well-documented experimental work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-driven, collaborative mindset suited to a dynamic team setting.
