About the Role

As a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Mines PFAS Remedial Technology Engineering Center, you will contribute to applied research focused on assessing and advancing methods for treating per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). Your work will span the evaluation of both separation and destruction approaches across a range of contaminated media, including groundwater, soil, wastewater, and biosolids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and benchmark remediation technologies for capturing and breaking down PFAS compounds.
  • Design and prepare technical evaluations of treatment performance across diverse environmental matrices.
  • Study separation and destruction processes applied to groundwater, soil, wastewater, and biosolids.
  • Analyze experimental data and document findings to support ongoing center projects.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, and research partners to advance project objectives.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Background or strong interest in contaminant remediation, water treatment, or PFAS-related research.
  • Familiarity with laboratory and analytical methods relevant to evaluating treatment techniques.
  • Strong analytical, scientific writing, and collaborative research skills.
