Role Overview

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is seeking a Policy Advisor to join our team in Wellington. As part of the Trade and Supply Chains division, you will contribute to creating a resilient and high-performing economy that enhances the quality of life for all New Zealanders.

What You'll Do

• Analyze trade policies and their impact on supply chains
• Develop and implement strategies to improve trade efficiency and resilience
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including industry partners and government agencies, to ensure effective policy outcomes
• Conduct research and provide evidence-based advice to inform policy decisions
• Support the development of policies that promote sustainable economic growth and innovation

Requirements

• Degree in economics, business, law, or a related field
• Experience in trade policy analysis or similar roles
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A commitment to working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
