Patient Services Coordinator

UC Riverside is hiring a Patient Services Coordinator to join our healthcare team at our Canyon Crest location in Riverside County. This full-time position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient experiences across our health operations.

Position Summary

As a Patient Services Coordinator at University of California, Riverside Health, you'll be the crucial link between patients and our clinical teams. Working in the Patient Access Center, you'll manage appointment scheduling, verify insurance information, handle patient communications, and ensure accurate registration data. This role operates on a standard full-time schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM and requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Core Duties

• Schedule and confirm patient appointments across multiple clinical departments
• Verify insurance coverage and gather necessary demographic information during check-in
• Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person with professionalism and accuracy
• Maintain confidential patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times
• Coordinate between patients and medical staff to resolve registration and access issues
• Process patient paperwork and update electronic health records
• Provide clear guidance regarding billing, insurance questions, and appointment procedures

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in healthcare is a plus
• Proven experience in patient services, healthcare administration, or customer-facing roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills when working with diverse patient populations
• Ability to multitask efficiently and manage high call volumes without losing accuracy
• Comfort with electronic health records systems and standard computer applications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
