About the Role
This PRN (as-needed) Patient Service Coordinator position supports Mercy Cedar Rapids' commitment to patient-centered care. You will be the welcoming first point of contact for patients while providing dependable clerical support to a MercyCare provider. The schedule covers every third weekend, with availability for 1:30–8:00 pm shifts Monday through Friday; hours are variable and assigned on a weekly, rotating basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and represent Mercy Cedar Rapids with consistently excellent customer service.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and route them promptly to the appropriate team member or department.
- Provide clerical and administrative support that helps a MercyCare provider deliver smooth, timely care.
- Uphold Mercy's philosophy of patient-centered care in every interaction.
- Maintain accurate front-office records and support day-to-day coordination of the UC South location.
Qualifications
- A genuine commitment to friendly, compassionate, patient-focused service.
- Strong communication and telephone etiquette skills.
- Comfort with clerical and administrative tasks in a busy healthcare setting.
