Patient Care Coordinator – Golden Optometric Group

Golden Optometric Group, part of the EssilorLuxottica Group, is seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator to join our West Covina, Los Angeles County practice. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you'll be the essential connection between our patients and our clinical team, ensuring every visit runs smoothly and our patients receive the attentive, professional care they deserve.

What This Role Involves

In this position, you'll serve as the organizational backbone of our West Covina optometry practice. You'll manage patient interactions, handle scheduling and administrative tasks, and help maintain the welcoming, efficient environment our patients expect. Your work directly supports our ability to deliver excellent vision care and build lasting patient relationships in our community.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process, including patient intake forms and insurance verification
• Schedule appointments and manage the practice calendar to optimize patient flow and minimize wait times
• Answer patient calls and inquiries, responding to questions about services, appointments, and insurance coverage
• Update and maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance in all data handling
• Process payments, manage billing questions, and handle basic financial transactions
• Assist patients with eyewear selection information and coordinate order follow-ups
• Support clinical staff by preparing patient areas and maintaining supply inventory
• Communicate appointment reminders and provide patients with aftercare instructions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfort with electronic health records and practice management software
• Customer service experience in a medical or retail environment is a plus
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professionalism
