As a Patient Account Specialist in RCO PB Follow Up, you will play a central role in managing and resolving outstanding professional billing accounts, ensuring timely reimbursement and accurate account resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid or underpaid professional billing claims with insurance payers
- Investigate account discrepancies and initiate appropriate corrective actions to secure payment
- Interpret explanation of benefits (EOB) documents and payer correspondence to determine next steps
- Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve denials, appeals, and outstanding balances
- Document all account activity accurately within the healthcare billing system
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify billing trends and escalate complex account issues
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, or professional billing follow-up preferred
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes, payer guidelines, and denial management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
