Rush Henrietta Central SD is hiring a Part-Time Registered Nurse to support student health and wellness at Rush-Henrietta Senior High School. This position becomes available in September 2026 and offers the flexibility of part-time employment while making a meaningful difference in a school community.
Role Overview
As a school nurse, you'll deliver essential health services to students and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. Your work will span preventive care, emergency response, health advocacy, and coordination with families and healthcare providers. You'll be the primary health resource on campus, addressing the diverse wellness needs of a secondary school population.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care, health assessments, and first aid to students and staff
- Administer medications per physician orders and maintain accurate medication records
- Prepare and coordinate health requirements for field trips and school activities
- Maintain confidential student health records and documentation
- Screen for and respond to health concerns, including communicable diseases and injuries
- Communicate with students, parents, and guardians regarding health issues and care coordination
- Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and healthcare providers to support student wellness
- Monitor and update immunization and health screening records
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Clinical nursing experience and strong patient care skills
- Knowledge of school health services and child development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information
- Flexibility and capacity to prioritize in a fast-paced school setting
